Nigel Smith spent a year seconded to the Department of the Environment in 1983 and has specialised in urban regeneration ever since - so he is one of the most experienced practitioners in the field. He has enormous practical knowledge of projects, places and people all over England and Wales.
He is chairman of the RICS Regeneration Panel and well-known for his straight-talking approach, which makes him much in demand at public events.
Dominic Williams has a private sector background in property development and corporate strategy.
Like Nigel, he is a regular contributor to policy debates, both in public and in private - for instance in 2002, he was Special Adviser to the House of Commons Select Committee on Urban Affairs inquiry into the need for a new European regeneration framework.
He read Modern History at Oxford, then trained with the Valuation Office Agency. He worked for two major consultancies, Hillier Parker and Drivers Jonas, then became a director of BAA - Lynton. As well as property development, on and off airports, he worked on corporate projects for BAA in the UK and abroad and ran his own consultancy before founding Hewdon.
